Beer-loving local residents soon will be able to visit all four of Johnson County’s craft breweries in a single afternoon, chauffeured from site to site on a big green bus.
The Indy Brew Bus, which shuttles people around central Indiana breweries for tours and sampling, has added a Johnson County route. The tour will take people to Mashcraft Brewing, Taxman Brewing Co., Planetary Brewing Co. and Oaken Barrel Brewing Co. over the course of three hours.
Buses will run on Sundays, with tours starting and ending at Shallo’s Antique Restaurant and Brewhaus, 8811 Hardegan St., Indianapolis. Tours will include transportation from Shallo’s to the four breweries and samples of craft beers. The buses have water bottles for the rides in-between breweries, as well as coolers to keep growler purchases cold.
The Johnson County tour joins existing downtown Indianapolis and Broad Ripple tours. The new route starts running March 1.
