Isaac Wilson Smith

FRANKLIN

Isaac Wilson Smith, 85, passed away on Sunday, Feb. 15, 2015, in Indianapolis. He was a resident of Franklin.

He was born on Oct. 29, 1929, in Scott County, Virginia, to the late App Carter and Mary Ella Lane Smith.

Isaac married Audrey Lee Clayton Smith on May 4, 1957. She preceded him in passing on Sept. 14, 2006.

He is survived by a son, Gary Smith of Franklin; a daughter, Rhonda Gayle Smith of Franklin; and a granddaughter, April Smith of Franklin. Also surviving are sisters, Fay Roller of Duffield, Virginia, Lucille Fannon of Norcross, Georgia, Joyce Akers of Gate City, Virginia, Rosie Bledsoe of Hiltons, Virginia; and brothers, Cloise Smith of Duffield, Virginia, and Delmer Pat Smith of Ringo, Georgia; along with several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in passing by his parents; wife, Audrey; and brothers, Coy Smith, Ray Smith, Craft Smith and Will Smith.

Isaac was a U.S. Army veteran, serving in the Korean War.

He was employed by Arvin Industries in Franklin as a setup man, retiring after 43 years of dedicated service.

The Rev. Eric Stoltz will conduct a graveside service at 11 a.m. Thursday at Greenwood Cemetery in Greenwood.
