J. Daniel Sharp

TAYLORSVILLE

J. Daniel Sharp, 85, of Taylorsville, passed away Monday, Feb. 9, 2015.

He was born Dec. 19, 1929, in Vinemont, Alabama, to the late Frank V. and Mittie Lee Randall Sharp. Dan served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.

He married Freda M. Watson on Aug. 20, 1949; and Barber Dan opened his shop, Sharp’s Trim and Groom, in Taylorsville which he owned and operated for 57 years.

He attended Life Apostolic Ministries in Westport and was a member of World of Pentecost in Columbus.

Dan is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Freda M. Sharp; children, J. Michael Sharp, Gerald K. Sharp (Penny) and Dana E. Jones (Greg); grandchildren, Kristen L. Lee (Justin), Gentry K. Sharp and Danielle Jones; and sisters, Mary Swan and Dorothy Oliver (Darrell).

A sister, Ruth Self, and brothers, Claud and George Sharp, preceded him in death.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at World of Pentecost, 3939 Central Ave., Columbus. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday and from 10 a.m. until service time Saturday at the church.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to World of Pentecost, Imagine, 3939 Central Ave., Columbus, IN 47203.

Final arrangements and care are entrusted to Shirley Brothers Thompson Road Chapel, Indianapolis.
