Franklin recognized for promoting health

The American Heart Association recently recognized the city of Franklin for promoting physical activity and health in the workplace.

The association’s Fit-Friendly Companies program encourages companies to make their employees’ health and wellness a priority. The city of Franklin was among 57 organizations and companies in the state recognized, according to a news release.

The city reached Gold status in the program, which means it recently implemented activities and programs to encourage physical activity, nutrition and other programs aimed at wellness.
