Center Grove to host students from China

Center Grove High School will host students and a teacher from Yangzhou, China, next week.

The 10 students and teacher are part of the SinoAmerican Youth Ambassadors program and will be in town from Saturday through Feb. 14.

They will live with host families during their visit and attend classes at the high school each day, according to a Center Grove news release.

“One of the goals of our first strategic planning committee was to increase the cultural experiences available for our students,” Superintendent Richard Arkanoff said in the release.

The program, which is funded by the Ameson Foundation, is designed to bring greater international awareness and cultural diversity to high school campuses, with students serving as cultural ambassadors in both countries, the release said.
