Sharon Louise Stinson

Sharon Louise (McGee) Stinson was born Feb. 11, 1931, in Evansville.

Her parents were Richard Lawrence McGee of Louisville, Kentucky, and Maude Lucille (Huston) McGee of Enfield, Illinois.

Mrs. Stinson attended Evansville Public Schools and graduated from Bosse High School in 1949. She majored in home economics at Indiana University, later transferring to Evansville College.

She and Gerald Edmond Stinson were married in Evansville on June 8, 1952, and are the parents of four surviving children, Dee S. Owens of Bloomington, Bruce I. Stinson of New Whiteland, Dayne R. Stinson of Bargersville and Holly L. Osborne of Trafalgar.

Mrs. Stinson worked as a bookkeeper for 35 years, retiring from the IU School of Dentistry in Indianapolis in 1996.

She enjoyed good meals, time with her family, travel and her circle of friends.

She celebrated 28 years of sobriety in 2014 and was very proud of her achievement in health.

She also is survived by her former husband, Gerald E. Stinson of Naples, Florida; eight grandchildren, Benjamin (April) Priest of Bargersville, Lorelei (Tramell) Woods of Indianapolis, and Brandi (Chris) Ward, Larisa Stinson, Hilary (Rick) Nowling, Kristina Stinson, Chelsey Osborne and Kayla Stinson, all of Franklin; and 11 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Forest Lawn Funeral Home, 1977 S. State Road 135, Greenwood. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Entombment will be at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens in Greenwood.
