Police arrest man after domestic incident

Police say a Greenwood man was arrested after hitting his girlfriend during an argument.

Zachary Bova, 31, 653 Yeagy Road, was arrested on a charge of battery after an altercation with his girlfriend Jan. 6 at a Greenwood home.

Bova ripped rings off of his girlfriend’s fingers and dumped her purse onto the ground. When she picked up her purse, Bova kicked her in the face, breaking her nose. She ran into the garage to yell for help. When Bova caught up with her, he hit her in the face to keep her from yelling for help, according to the Greenwood Police Department report.

The woman’s parents came to the garage to check on her, and Bova ran away. Before he left, Bova said he would kill his girlfriend’s family if she talked to the police, the report said.

Bova was arrested and taken to the Johnson County jail, where he was released on $1,450 bond.
