GREENWOOD
Barbara Ellen (Lieland) VanHuss, 61, passed away Friday, Jan. 23, 2015, at Franciscan St. Francis Health-Indianapolis, surrounded by her family. She was a resident of Greenwood.
She was born June 29, 1953, in Rushville, a daughter of Melvin G. Lieland and Betty E. Currey Lieland. She graduated from Rushville Community High School in 1971.
Barbara married Joe VanHuss on Nov. 22, 1975, in Rushville.
She was employed by IU Health in Greeenwood at the time of her death.
Survivors include her husband, Joe; a son, Jay VanHuss of Greenwood; a sister, Joann Gorrell of Champaign, Illinois; a brother, Jim Lieland of Rushville; a brother-in-law, Jon (Debbie) VanHuss of Collinsville, Oklahoma; five nieces and nephews; and seven great-nieces and great-nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Barbara cherished her family and treasured her friends.
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at St. Mary Catholic Church, 512 N. Perkins St., Rushville. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Jessen Funeral Home Whiteland Chapel, 729 U.S. 31 North, and from 9:30 a.m. until service time Thursday at the church. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery in Rushville.
