Bertha (Osborne) Johnson, 84, passed away Monday, Dec. 29, 2014, at Community Hospital North in Indianapolis. She was a resident of Lawrence and a former resident of Greenwood.

Bertha was born in Leslie County, Kentucky, on March 20, 1930, to her parents, the late Felix and Parlee (Hollin) Osborne.

She married Paul Johnson on Jan. 28, 1950, in Leslie County, Kentucky. He preceded her in death on Feb. 7, 2014, after 64 loving years of marriage.

Bertha was a devoted wife, mother and homemaker.

She is survived by three children, Bonnie Wilhite and Brenda Johnson, both of Greenwood, and Mary (Jim) Parish of Lawrence; and siblings, Mary Barger of Noblesville, Sally Stone of Indianapolis and Martha Johnson of Morgantown. Bertha will be remembered by her grandchildren, Catina (Jared) Schneider of Zionsville, Christoffer Parish of Broad Ripple, Corrie Parish of Lawrence and Brittany Wilhite of Greenwood; and great-grandchildren, Cameron, Holden, Abigail, Jayden, Adalynn and Kendall.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Carol Sue Johnson; son-in-law, Kenny Wilhite; and brothers, George and Rufus Osborne.

Bertha was a member of Church of the Bible in Franklin and enjoyed cooking, sewing and spending time with her family. She also was known for her carpentry skills by installing all the new windows in her home and her ability to fix anything around the house.

The Rev. Thomas S. McEwen will conduct a funeral service at 1 p.m. Friday at Meredith-Clark Funeral Home, Cremation and Personalization Center, 179 E. Mulberry St., Morgantown. Friends may call from 11 a.m. until service time Friday at the funeral home. Burial will be at East Hill Cemetery in Morgantown.
