Kenneth Paul Choat

Kenneth Paul Choat, 72, of Greenwood, passed away Monday, Dec. 22, 2014.

He was born Oct. 23, 1942, in Indianapolis, to the late Paul and Florence Owens Choat.

He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army and retired after 22 years of service.

He was a wannabe cowboy and enjoyed horseback riding and working on his Ford tractor and was a history buff who enjoyed war stories and military documentaries.

He was a member of the National Rifle Association and loved working with guns and spending time outdoors.

He was an active member and past deacon of First Christian Church, Bargersville, and enjoyed his family.

Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Bonnie Plummer Choat; two daughters, Stacy (Dan) Bettner and Jennifer (Ernest) England; and four grandchildren, Chase, Kenzie, Cole and Mya.

The funeral service will be conducted at 11:30 a.m. Saturday at G.H. Herrmann Greenwood Funeral Home, 1605 S. State Road 135, near Olive Branch Road. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home. Burial will be at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens in Greenwood.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Disabled American Veterans, in care of the funeral home.
