A 20-year-old Greenwood man was taken to the hospital after accidentally shooting himself in the hand Thursday night.
Joshua Leffew, 20, who lives in the 300 block of North Meridian Street, called police after the shooting about 6:40 p.m. Leffew told officers he was home by himself when he removed his .45 caliber handgun from his holster. Leffew was fumbling with the gun when it went off, firing a bullet through his left hand, a Greenwood Police Department report said.
Leffew was taken to an area hospital for treatment, the report said.
