S. Mack Coleman

GREENFIELD

S. Mack Coleman, 92, of Greenfield, passed away Monday, Dec. 15, 2014, at his home, surrounded by his loved ones.

Mack was born Sept. 1, 1922, to the late George H. and Theresa A. (Walker) Coleman.

Mack graduated from Franklin High School in 1941 and went on to attend Indiana Central College on a basketball scholarship.

He was a lab technician for Eli Lilly and Co. in Greenfield for more than 25 years.

He attended First Presbyterian Church of Greenfield.

Mack served in the U.S. Coast Guard during World War II. He is a former Mason and Shriner and was a life member of both the Franklin Elks Lodge and the Franklin American Legion.

Mack was very active, golf being his favorite pastime.

He was also an avid IU and Colts fan.

Mack is survived by his son, Brent (Belinda) Coleman of Columbus; his daughter, Michele (LeRoy) Cronk of Wilkinson; sister, Freida C. Alpert of East Walpole, Massachusetts; grandchildren, Baron (Jessica) Coleman of Montgomery, Alabama, Kasey (Scott) Galantine of McDonough, Georgia, Elizabeth (Chris Kidd) Sauer of Greenwood and McKenna (Eric Foist) Evens of Avon; and 10 great-grandchildren.

Mack was preceded in death by his parents; his wife of 32 years, Doris Coleman, who passed in 1977; and his companion of 25 years, Ricki Craig.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Stillinger Family Funeral Home, 1780 W. Main St., Greenfield. A public visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will be at Park Cemetery in Greenfield.
