Norma Jean Hobson

VINCENNES

Norma Jean Hobson, 86, passed away Monday, Dec. 15, 2014, at Good Samaritan Hospital in Vincennes. She was a resident of Vincennes.

She had worked as a registered nurse at Good Samaritan Hospital.

A member of St. John’s United Church of Christ, she was also a member of the Christian Women’s Club and the American Legion Auxiliary.

Born Jan. 19, 1928, in Widner Township in Knox County, she was the daughter of Julius and Bessie (Clinkenbeard) Heithecker.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Harold D. Hobson, whom she married May 7, 1950, and who passed away Jan. 29, 1994; brothers, Paul and Wayne Heithecker; and sisters, Ruth and Helen Phillippe, Opal Carron, Mildred DeGraff and Patricia Emmel.

Surviving are her sons, Rick Hobson, and his wife, Angie, of St. Anthony, Ron Hobson, and his wife, Paula, of Greenwood, Rodger Hobson of Vincennes and Randy Hobson, and his wife, Chandra, of Evansville; a brother, Jack Heithecker of Vincennes; her grandchildren, Tricia Cole, Lucas Hobson, Brady Hobson, Joel Hobson, Matthew Hobson, Lauren Hobson, Coy Hobson, Quinn Hobson and Emerson Hobson; and five great-grandchildren.

Friends may visit with the family from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Goodwin Funeral Home, 524 Broadway St., Vincennes. The funeral service will be conducted by the Rev. Dr. Kate Lambertson at 2 p.m. Thursday at St. John’s United Church of Christ, 606 N. Fifth St., Vincennes. Interment will be at Memorial Park Cemetery in Vincennes.
