Meeting to discuss tobacco use, effects

A meeting on tobacco use and prevention is set for Wednesday at the county extension office. 

The meeting, “What’s Up With Vaping? A Town Hall Meeting” will start at 10 a.m. at the Purdue Extension-Johnson County office, 484 N. Morton St., Franklin.

Topics include electronic nicotine devices, medical research, tobacco industry marketing tactics and teen use. The panel includes tobacco experts from the medical field and agencies including IU Simon Cancer Center, the American Lung Association and the Greenwood police department.

The program is free, and participants can register at healthierjc.org/tobacco.htm. Lunch will be available following the meeting.
