Betty Ann Hatfield

NASHVILLE

Betty Ann Hatfield, 77, passed away Friday, Dec. 12, 2014, at Brown County Health and Living Center in Nashville. She was a former resident of Franklin.

She was born Aug. 8, 1937, in Johnson County to Ralph S. and Florence (Lambert) Hommel.

She married Benjamin Daniel Hatfield. He preceded her in passing.

Survivors include her daughter, Lorrie Burkhart (Rick) of Franklin; grandchildren Sarah, Shelby and Seth Burkhart, all of Franklin; great-grandchildren, Breelyn and Brenson; brothers, Frank Hommel (Betty) of Greenwood and Don Hommel, Steve Hommel, Joe Hommel (Judy), Tim Hommel and Mike Hommel, all of Franklin; and sisters, Sandy Watson (Floyd) of Trafalgar, Joan Funk (Don) of Brazil and Janet Olivo (John) of Bargersville.

She was preceded in passing by a sister, Shirley Neumann.

Betty was a 1955 graduate of Union High School. She attended Ozark Bible College and Indiana Business College.

She held various office jobs and was a homemaker.

Betty enjoyed playing the piano, spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren, and attending church on Sundays.

A service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Monday at Flinn and Maguire Funeral Home, 2898 N. Morton St., Franklin. Friends may call from 11 a.m. until the service time Monday at the funeral home. Burial will be at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens in Greenwood.

Memorial contributions may be made to the St. Jude Children’s Hospital, in care of the funeral home.
