Franklin man arrested after mother struck

A Franklin man was arrested after police said he hit a woman in front of her children and backed into her with a car.

Ernest Earl Fisher Jr., 34, 2022 Cedarmill Drive, was arrested on a charge of domestic battery.

Police were called to Fisher’s house about 1:20 a.m. Thursday by the woman’s children. The woman and her children told officers that Fisher had yelled at the woman before hitting her, grabbed her by the neck and pushed her into a wall, according to a Franklin Police Department report.

Fisher then tried to leave in the woman’s car. She attempted to stop him by standing behind the car, and he backed up and knocked her to the ground, according to the report. The woman had a knot on her forehead and cuts and blood on her arms, the report said.

Fisher was arrested and was taken to the Johnson County jail, where he was being held on $3,300 bond.
