Pair accused of leading police on chase

Two people police sought for questioning about a home invasion and stabbing were caught after a police chase on Interstate 65 that ended near Edinburgh.

About 5 p.m. Thursday, Indiana State Police tried to stop Tanner Stickney, 20, and Cody Lake, 21, on I-65, north of Columbus. Police were looking for the two people after getting a report about a stabbing in West Baden Spring, near French Lick, according to a news release from Indiana State Police.

The vehicle didn’t stop and led police on a chase north, getting off at the State Road 252 exit near Edinburgh. They headed east and stopped Flat Rock in Shelby County, the release said.

Police said the two men tried to steal money and prescription medications from Stickney’s grandparents, Robert and Donna Meehan early Thursday morning. The men stabbed Robert Meehan in the abdomen and leg and stabbed Donna Meehan in the neck, according to an Indiana State Police news release.
