Yo, Adrian! Bulldogs too much for Franklin College men

ADRIAN, Mich.

Adrian College relied on 57 percent shooting from the field in picking up a 98-66 home win against the visiting Franklin College men’s basketball team Saturday.

The Bulldogs (2-2) made nine of their first 10 shots to build a quick 21-6 lead five minutes into the game. Adrian shot 76 percent to take a 63-29 halftime advantage.

Adrian was led by Rickey Jackson’s 18 points. Five Bulldogs scored in double figures.

Franklin sophomore guard Brandon Scruggs scored a career-high 13 points. He made all four of his shot attempts, including three three-point field goals.

Sophomore guard Robbie Prather scored 12 points. Freshman forward Jim Mace had nine points and five rebounds. Sophomore forward John Beineke scored six points and grabbed a game-high nine rebounds.

Franklin returns to action Wednesday against Hanover College in the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference opener. The game also will be Bankers Rivalry Night at Spurlock Center.
