Teen backs car into Trafalgar sub shop

With plywood acting as an exterior wall, a Trafalgar restaurant remains closed more than a week after a 17-year-old girl ran her car into the building.

The teenager put her 2004 Suzuki Forenza in reverse in the Subway parking lot, located at 12 Trafalgar Square, and crashed the car into the restaurant Nov. 20. Her vehicle stopped once it was in the dining room area of the establishment.

The teen told police that she put her vehicle in reverse and couldn’t stop, according to the Trafalgar Police Department accident report.

Between $25,000 and $50,000 worth of damage was caused to her vehicle and Subway’s exterior wall in the accident, which occurred about 8 p.m.

Another person was a passenger in the vehicle when the accident occurred. No one was taken to the hospital. The vehicle was towed out of the restaurant the same night.
