Police are investigating a series of spare tire thefts in Franklin.
Someone stole spare tires off the backs of four vehicles parked at City View Farms apartments in the 1000 block of West Jefferson Street. The thefts occurred late Wednesday or early Thursday.
One resident told police that someone stole his tire between 6 p.m. Wednesday and 7 a.m. Thursday. Another resident said she last saw her tire about 11:30 p.m. Wednesday, according to police reports.
Police found lug nuts and a tire cover on the ground near one of the vehicles. Whoever stole the tires unscrewed the nuts holding the tires on the vehicle, according to police reports.
