Local artist’s work endorsed by legacy project

Daily Journal staff reports

The work of Edinburgh-based artist Rick Wilson recently was endorsed by the Indiana Bicentennial Commission as an official Indiana Legacy Project.

A supporter of Indiana’s state parks, Wilson will document the landscape of Indiana by painting scenes from each one of the 34 state parks in Indiana.

His Painting Indiana State Parks project will open in 2016 at the Richmond Art Museum and Cope Environmental Center in Centerville and be made available to other venues across Indiana.

Wilson also recently had two paintings accepted into an exhibition in Costa Mesa, California. The paintings will be on display in the Randy Higbee Gallery 6-inch-square exhibition starting Dec. 6.

Wilson will be an instructor at the fifth annual Plein Air Convention and Expo in Monterey, California, in April.
