Joyce A. Griffith, 76, passed away Wednesday, Nov. 19, 2014. She was a resident of Greenwood.
She was born Sept. 23, 1938, in Danville to the late Robert and Dora (Jaggers) Gipson.
She is survived by her husband, John D. Griffith, whom she married on Sept. 19, 1998; children, James R. (Patricia) Lucas, Vicky L. (Jerry) Kaufman, Laurie A. (Bill) McKee, Robert S. (Laweeta) Mudd, Angela A. (Michael) Crist, Travis W. (Brenda) Mudd, and Mark D. (Janet) and Charles R. (Donna) Griffith; 26 grandchildren; 36 great-grandchildren; her former husband, Herman H. Mudd; and siblings, Sue Hawkins, Shirley Robbins, Lola Edwards and Virgil Gipson.
Joyce was preceded in death by a daughter, Barbara Sue Lucas; and siblings, Mabel Cline, Myrtle Walker, Leon Gipson, Vernal Gipson and Harold Gipson.
Joyce attended Rocklane Christian Church and was previously baptized at Mount Gilead Christian Church. She enjoyed anything to do with Elvis, fishing, mushroom hunting, camping, and visiting with her children and grandchildren.
A service will be conducted at 10 a.m. Saturday at Wilson St. Pierre Funeral Service and Crematory, Greenwood Chapel, 481 W. Main St. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home. Joyce will be laid to rest at Greenwood Cemetery.
