FRANKLIN
Mary Violet Burch, 80, of Franklin, died Sunday, May 11, 2014, at Johnson Memorial Hospital in Franklin.
She was born Nov. 8, 1933, in Johnson County to the late Marvin O. Shaw and Emma F. (Burton) Demaree.
She was married to Glen Roger Burch for 40 years. He survives.
Other survivors include a daughter, Jeanette Fay Tobias of Fontana, California; two siblings, Howard “Pete” Shaw of Edinburgh and Naomi McCall of Franklin; three grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Jeanette Medley; a brother, Garry Campbell; and two sisters, Carolyn S. Hagan and Brenda J. Niccum.
She was a member of Trinity Lighthouse Church in Franklin.
She was a homemaker. She enjoyed crafts, gardening, singing and helping others.
A funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Eskew-Eaton Funeral Home, 302 E. Main Cross St., Edinburgh, with the Rev. Norman Palmer officiating. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will be at Rest Haven Cemetery in Edinburgh.
